Empeñalo — Fintech Marketplace
A Peruvian fintech marketplace where users pawn/secure items and receive multiple real offers from businesses.
Overview
A Peruvian fintech marketplace where users "empeñar" (pawn/secure) items and receive multiple real offers from businesses. Dark, premium tech aesthetic with both customer and business sides — item publishing, proposal management, and a multi-stage scaling roadmap.
The Problem
Traditional pawn shops offer opaque pricing and require in-person visits. Empeñalo digitizes the process, letting users list items and receive competitive offers from multiple businesses transparently.

Built the business side: item discovery feed, proposal creation with configurable terms, pipeline management, and analytics dashboard for offer conversion rates.
Performance & Scaling
Implemented Upstash Redis for rate limiting and caching. Optimized real-time subscriptions for low latency. Prepared multi-stage scaling roadmap for national expansion.
