AquaTwin — Virtual Water Metering for Data Centers
Data centers know their power draw to the watt — and almost nothing about their water. AquaTwin turns the telemetry tenants already have into audited, per-tenant water bills and compliance reports.
Overview
AquaTwin is a concept for virtual water metering in data-center colocation: estimate each tenant's water use from the power telemetry operators already collect, so water can be billed and reported with the same clarity as electricity — without installing new meters.
The Problem
Data centers usually measure only direct cooling water and rarely attribute consumption to individual tenants. As water disclosure and sustainability reporting get stricter, operators need a way to turn existing power signals into credible, per-tenant water figures.
